He Speaks

A funny thing seems to happen when I am seeking God; He tends to speak a timely word to me. Whether it is through a verse from His word, a word or an action from an other, or just an observation I make that causes something to leap forth in my spirit.

Yesterday afternoon, I began to think about all of the “stuff” that is swirling around right now. All of the circumstances that would just like to pull me down. I could be the only one who has ever felt like no matter what direction I look to, there”s something new ready for an ambush. That”s when I knew God was standing right in my midst with the word I needed at that moment.

If the LORD had not been my help,
My soul would soon have dwelt in the abode of silence. If I should say, “My foot has slipped,”
Your lovingkindness, O LORD, will hold me up. When my anxious thoughts multiply within me,
Your consolations delight my soul. (Psalm 94:17-19 NASB)

Once again I had been reminded that the LORD is my help, and do not have to slip into the silence. No matter what I am going through, it is always He who is there to sustain and hold me up. These anxious thoughts may swirl around, but they are no match for the comfort that He brings. In that my soul rejoices.

He always amazes me. No matter what surrounds me, He is always there with a timely word. He is always speaking; I always want to listen.

  1. Yep, completely understand. If we focus on the circumstances or what we see, we fall silent. When we hear His voice, we can’t help but praise and delight in Him. Good word. Thanks Philip.

Such a simple truth, but one that we can easily forget. Thanks so much!

I hear you loud and clear. Our senses betray us… We trust so much in what we can see, touch, hear, or smell, that we forget that all of the cosmos is in His control. Our enemies are allowed breath because He gives it.

“Lo though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil… For YOU Are With Me”! God marches us right through the middle of the valley for the world to know that He is in control and that we belong to Him.

    Great post and reminder Philip.

Thanks so much for coming by and sharing your thoughts Floyd. It is definitely a comfort to know that He leads us right through those things.
